Okay, if you were to tell your life story, who would you have narrate it and why?
Have fun with this it is hilarious to see what people come up with.

I would have Marilyn Monroe narrate mine just because everybody would think of that sexy, girlie voice when they thought of my life story!Haha!

David Aaron Baker. He narrates the Odd Thomas books and I thik he'd do a good job with the humor in my story.

How about Mike Rowe, the guy who narrates Dirty Jobs and Deadliest Catch.

Post 6 by forereel (Just posting.) on Thursday, 12-Sep-2013 17:51:48

Bugs Bunny.

Post 7 by Meglet (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 12-Sep-2013 18:06:42

I was having a bad day...like, a rant-worthy day...until I read that, Wayne. Thanks for making me smile.

Janeane Garofalo, who played Heather Mooney in Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion

or

Sandra Bullock.

If you don't want anyone to narate your life why'd you bother replying?

Post 14 by Imprecator (The Zone's Spelling Nazi) on Friday, 13-Sep-2013 21:39:46

Because we can?

Post 15 by chelslicious (like it or not, I'm gonna say what I mean. all the time.) on Friday, 13-Sep-2013 22:33:16

Post 16 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Saturday, 14-Sep-2013 12:13:57

Fare enough, lol.

Post 17 by Runner229 (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Saturday, 14-Sep-2013 14:22:30

I would rather tell my own life story. It wouldn't have the same affect if it was told by someone else. They may know what to emphasize and which events were most significant, but that isn't enough. I used to contemplate writing a book about my life when I was in high school, but as far as I know I still have many years ahead of me before considering this and what if something big happens to me after I write it. Plus I haven't really had the time lately to do much outside of schoolwork and trying to stay in shape.

Post 18 by chelslicious (like it or not, I'm gonna say what I mean. all the time.) on Saturday, 14-Sep-2013 16:06:12

Ryan makes a great point, in his last post. I wholeheartedly agree that no one can tell a story better than the one whose story it is.

Post 19 by forereel (Just posting.) on Saturday, 14-Sep-2013 17:46:50

Ah, but old Bugs could tell mine funnier than me, and entertainment is the key. A boring life story doesn't get heard. If I'm going to have mine told, I want it heard!
Lol.

Post 20 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Sunday, 15-Sep-2013 11:32:12

Hmmm I guess it would be better if I told my own story. It makes sense...

Post 21 by ChaiTea (Newborn Zoner) on Sunday, 15-Sep-2013 15:22:04

I was thinking Porky Pig because my entire life has been "Looney Tunes". (wink)

Post 22 by Runner229 (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Sunday, 15-Sep-2013 15:46:51

It depends on how you want your story to be presented. If you want it to be more comical it would make sense to have one of the mentioned people say it. It also depends on what interests the person who reads it, if they would find it boring. You might find your life to be boring, but another person might find it inspirational. Or I guess in this case it would come down to who was telling it. It could still make a statement, though.

Post 23 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Sunday, 15-Sep-2013 22:22:45

Porky pig would stutter the whole time though.

Post 24 by chelslicious (like it or not, I'm gonna say what I mean. all the time.) on Sunday, 15-Sep-2013 22:54:17

maybe some would find that humorous. you never know. I wouldn't, but different strokes for different folks, perhaps.

I would have Michael Shannon read my life story as seriously angry and hilarious as the sorority letter rant he read.

For those who aren't familiar with his voice, here's the link:

nice and i would have to say bugs bunny as he is a favourite character of mine, smiles.

Post 27 by gizmobear (move over school!) on Wednesday, 18-Sep-2013 8:07:11

i would pick morgan freeman, or the actor who played darth vadar.they are both good prose readers. with all the crap i have been through they make good dramatical readers.

Post 28 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Wednesday, 18-Sep-2013 22:24:52

Geen Shepeard might be good but I still think using my own voice would make sense.

Post 29 by loves animals (This site is so "educational") on Friday, 27-Sep-2013 6:39:41

fair enough, smiles

Post 30 by softy5310 (Fuzzy's best angel) on Saturday, 12-Oct-2013 3:30:54

I would do it myself. I've always wanted to write a book about my life, or heck, maybe a series, my life's been so crazy!! I still haven't given up on that idea, so who knows. But I'd tell it myself.

Post 31 by Siriusly Severus (The ESTJ 1w9 3w4 6w7 The Taskmaste) on Monday, 21-Oct-2013 7:51:26

probably michael croffer (nls reader of atlas shrugged) or christopher hurt (professional reader of atlas shrugged) if tee can both charm me and hold my interest for a very long boring read on political commentary then, they can read mine. and both of them would give me an excellent tone. if they can read it like the tones and attitudes they useed to read dagny or john galt, it'll be `perfect, and the little situations in my life amongst the boring they could also handle really well.

you know, another person who'd give my life story a nice point of view is glenn beck. I can imagine the passions he could give my passions. and his energy is awesome for such a narrative.

Post 32 by faithfulwolf (Veteran Zoner) on Tuesday, 29-Apr-2014 14:40:14

I suppose Morgan Freeman could give a third person Narative of my life. There aren't any females I would like to narrate my life in first person, so,

Post 33 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Monday, 05-May-2014 17:12:52

I want to be dead and gone when that happens.
Otherwise I am around to hear and contradict what is said. While in fact the person closest to the source is not always the best option, so yeah, an unbiased rendition.

Post 34 by turricane (happiness and change are choices ) on Tuesday, 06-May-2014 19:33:03

jean shepherd is dead. sorry folks. when I was younger he could do my life, but mike rowe is still the man for me. if I narrated my life, my voice would drive the poor listener crazy. it's so husky, loud, and I've been told whatever I say sounds like I'm talking to teeny weeny pre school kids.

Post 35 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Wednesday, 07-May-2014 10:46:14

Lol Turricane. Can't be as bad as being told I always sound like I don't care. Lol people couldn't bother listening to mine if I told it.

Post 36 by CrazyMusician (If I don't post to your topic, it's cuz I don't give a rip about it!) on Tuesday, 13-May-2014 14:43:43

I can picture the Audible reviews right now! LOL

I think I would have fun reading my life story, largely because I used to practice reading books into tapes and, to be honest, I wasn't half bad!

If I were to get a commercial narrator to read it, I would probably want Elizabeth Evans, Kathleen Gati, Stina Nielsen, or Kathe Mazur. These are all talented female narrators who are, at this point, young enough to be able to describe my life well but old enough(with the possible exception of Sands) to not sound like I'm stuck in Jr. high.

perhaps because my life story would be written in first person, I wouldn't want a male narrator...

Kate

People would tire of my own narration of my life. I do not tend to be able to read from books and sound natural. Imagine those rather monotone or the individuals who emphasize words awkwardly, that's me as well.
